Tennis Lessons by
Mark Douglas Foti
If I didn't have to actually run Tennis Channel, I'd be on the court with Mark all the time. He's a terrific teacher and great fun to be around.
I've been playing competitive tennis for over 40 years, and Mark has truly been a game changer.
Mark helped bring out the best in me. He was an invaluable part of my team at the height of my career.
Meet Mark Douglas Foti
Mark Douglas Foti grew up in the Bay Area with tennis in his blood. He played number one on the Woodside High School varsity team and spent his weekends competing in junior tournaments up and down California. From there he took his game to USC, where he served as a hitting partner and manager for the Division I Men's Tennis Team — a program that won an NCAA National Championship during his time with it.
After college, Mark began coaching full-time. Over more than a decade, he has worked with players of every background: young beginners, adults in their seventies, nationally ranked juniors, and professional players. Among his notable clients are TV talk show host Dr. Phil McGraw and Ken Solomon, President of the Tennis Channel — both of whom he has coached for over ten years.
Over the past decade he has worked on and off with a professional player who reached a career-high ranking of #119 in the world, with wins over the likes of Kei Nishikori — a coaching relationship whose highlight was attending the 2017 US Open together. He has also worked with Stanford's High Performance Cardinal Clinic and Stanford's Nike Tennis Camp. Fun fact: Mark actually beat a player in the juniors who went on to crack the ATP top 50.
He brings that competitive background to every lesson — whether you're just picking up a racket or trying to take your game to the next level.
And remember — keep your eye on the ball!
